Canvas – Make your mark, was founded in 2008 by Anita Kalin Grantham.

She has been passionate about education for years and believes in giving the next generation the mentoring they need to make a difference and live with purpose. Anita founded Canvas to create a mentoring system for students to identify their strengths, focus their talents and make the most of their educational experiences.

Anita recently started a new position with Diversified Human Resources in Business Development. She is very excited to utilize her experience in human resources in this new role at DHR.

Previously Anita divided her time between two roles at Jokake Construction, Chief People Officer and Business Development for Healthcare. She has worked in the field of organizational and leadership development, business development, strategic planning, training and human resources for ten years. Anita has expertise in the construction, manufacturing, and hospitality industries and is passionate about creating great places to work.

Anita is also a Certified Partner for The Whale Hunters and leads a local Phoenix Chapter, helping business owners create a strategic sales system to help small businesses grow fast by making bigger sales to bigger customers.

In 2008, Anita founded Canvas | Make Your Mark a mentoring system for college students to identify their strengths, focus their talents and make the most of their educational experiences to help define their career paths.

Anita and her husband, JB Grantham own the Draw 10, Sports Bar and Grill and are partners in the Stockyards Steakhouse.

Anita holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Arizona, and Masters of Arts in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix. She is a certified instructor in numerous programs (i.e. Franklin Covey, National Training & Curriculum Institute Matrix Colors Program, Whale Hunters), and teaches these courses to Jokake employees and community partners.

Anita is an advisor and speaker to the APS AAAME (Academy for the Advancement of Small, Minority and Women-owned Enterprises) program. Anita volunteers for a variety of philanthropic organizations, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she was awarded the Woman of the Year Award, Crisis Nursery (Board Member), Junior Achievement and Ignite Phoenix.
